Student Pasta Bridge Competition

In the DBM Module B7 Construction and Structure, Prof. Robeller organizes a “pasta” bridge construction competition. The winner is the bridge with the best ratio of self weight and load-bearing capacity.

Pasta and hot glue may be used as material for the 1m wide bridge. Among other things, the finite element method with the Karamba 3D software is used for planning. The bridge shown in the photo was successfully loaded with 30 times its own weight.
